CSR related jobs have dramatically increased indeed mainly driven by legislative pressure, public procurement driving customers expectations towards more sustainability. The key question though is that logically sustainability should become fully integrated in all processes and jobs that we encompass. The need for sustainable directions is undoubteful in this transition period. Nonetheless, it is unlikely to last unless their role change. More and more, in companies that have grab the environmental topics as a business opportunity, the SD are under pressure to become more sales oriented. Though it can make sense, the adventurous, innovative spirit of people looking to hold such positions might have again to face their own values and can wonder legitimately if this very special role they have undertaken can last as such in today's difficult economical world transition.... no one knows yet?
